TEL AVIV, Israel, October 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: CRNT), a leading provider of high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions, today announced that Worldmax, a competitive WiMAX operator in the Netherlands, utilizes its FibeAir(R) IP solutions in one of Europe's first commercial WiMAX networks. Ceragon powers Worldmax's network with up to 400Mbps of traffic aggregation capacity, enabling smooth transmission of fast internet and a variety of multimedia services. With this recent deployment Worldmax joins more than forty WiMAX operators and service providers worldwide who are already using Ceragon's solutions for high-capacity backhaul applications.

Worldmax launched its new WiMAX network in June 2008 and currently offers high-end data services throughout the city of Amsterdam. The operator plans to eventually expand its independent wireless network and provide nationwide coverage.

"Ceragon's wireless Ethernet solutions offer the highest over-the-air capacities and ensure constant delivery of high-bandwidth services even during peak times," said a Worldmax company official. "With the help of Ceragon, we were able to set up our backhaul network in record time."

"WiMAX has emerged as one of the best options for competitive carriers to deliver broadband services and gain a share in developed markets, where in developing countries it is often the only method for making broadband services available," said Berge Ayvazian, Chief Strategy Officer at Yankee Group. "Ceragon has always been a leader in the high-capacity backhaul market. Its proven IP expertise makes Ceragon an ideal partner for WiMAX operators as it enables them to design an infrastructure based purely on cost-efficient high-capacity wireless IP links."

Ceragon has recently won the Best of WIMAX World Award in the category of Industry Innovation at the WiMAX World USA Conference and Expo. Ceragon's wireless Ethernet solutions are currently deployed in more than forty commercial WiMAX networks. Serving a range of network applications, Ceragon's WiMAX customers include regional and national operators, competitive carriers, ISPs and private organizations.

"We are happy to join forces with Worldmax and promote the expansion of WiMAX technology and services," said Ira Palti, President and CEO of Ceragon Networks. "We anticipate a growing demand for both WiMAX as well as other broadband wireless technologies which will in turn increase the need for our high-capacity solutions."
